I'm not taking the blame for this broken gate in my trailer. This was NOT me.

This was one sow who was trying to get IN (yeah you read this correctly, I said in not out!) of my trailer.

I've been moving pigs and one of the sows said, I'll come for a jolly? Are we going anywhere nice'

You might ask how Saturday Afternoon went? Well, I was involved, so take a wild guess..

Do you remember that I said that last week that I had a returning pig customer? Well, we sprayed the weaners with blue spray, with the intention of then catching them and then he would return the following weeking to pick them up.

What could go wrong?

Well the blue spray disappeared..

So, I took a good guess and got 90% of the pigs in the box and sent said buyer a message explaining about the blue spray and that I thought I had them all..

He turned up, got in the trailer and said, there is only 4 in here, there should be 9... balls!

3 hours later, we had 2 missing. We spent a long time trying to catch one particular weaner.. (the one in this video is the one in question!)

I even sore Mr S run (first time in a while)...

The buyers coming back another day for the reminder..

As he was leaving, I said 'sorry about today '- his response 'didn't expect anything less with you...'

This weekend has been busy, so just getting around to catch up.

At the weekends, I spend my mornings learning to ride (from 5.30 until 9ish). On Saturday, I finished earlier than normal and whilst driving home, I decided to call to check how the animal feeding was going well.

Mr S answers and says, I've got to go the cows are out. Obviously I have lots of questions, like how, who why? And he says 'had a phone call from the neighbours and they are in the new residential development'... I replied 'oh, I best leave you to it then'...

Silence. 'Everything okay?' I say

Mr S - 'its okay, they are back now'.

They obviously didn't like it over there. They decided to bolt across the 2 fields and smash through two of my electric fences all to get home. Two fences broken!

My response - 'its okay.. I've got a cattle buyer coming this afternoon...'

1 hour later- they are sold! They will be off to their new home shortly. I have sold on the basis that if they get out, it is not my phone call...

I've been a little sneaky....

As some of you know, Mr S is an engineer but he makes and fixes his own bits (and not mine - due to time mainly) so I asked a mechanic to come down to the yard to fix things... I hadn't told Mr S, just thought I'd get some bits fixed and he would never know...

Not even thinking that the mechanic would be on the phone to him later and at the end of the conversation say 'well I'll be down the farm later for the quad'.

The instant phone call from Mr S... !!!!

So, anyway, Mr Mechanic has come and fixed the quad - for now. I was so happy that it's working but the bad part - him moaning about the way I treat the quad...! Apparently it needs to have some tender loving care...

Whats worse that your husband moaning about your quad? A second man moaning at you for the way you treat your quad...

On a positive note, I persuaded him to take my lawn mower and fix that too...! 😉 (he's probably reading this and rolling his eyes!)

But the worst part about the entire evening? My 4 year old son showing him around and saying mummy broke that and that and that and that... Can you fix these too??

On the weekend, I had a returning pig-purchaser. We were going through the weaners and growers working out what he was interested in.

Whilst going around the many, many pigs, his son turned around and said 'Do you know you have a pig out?'.

I obviously laughed... 🤣

His father then responded and said 'this is good for her! When I first came here there was a lot of pigs running around!' I again laughed 😅 as this was 100% true.

When they first visited, I think I had at least three sows with piglets running around and living with the cows and one of the boars running around the place too...

It makes you think, remember to look back and see how much things have grown/changed.

My response to the young chap - 'yeah, I like to keep at least one pig out as a guard dog - with a sign saying 'BEWARE OF BOAR' - nobody wants to walk around a farm yard when there is a boar walking around...(even if he is a baby one!)

Now, I could have told the truth and said someone had dropped them off, as they had purchased them for a party and now they didn't need them.
BUT that would be BORING!!
So, I told him I'd purchased them for my pigs...
Well Mr S is fuming! 🤣🤣
Apparently we have a shed full of straw and I shouldn't be buying a small bale of straw! 😉
