First wedding arrangements of the season - done ✅
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re looking for seasonal, English flowers that are direct from the grower, you’re in the right place.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Throughout the flower season we supply ‘curated’ mixed buckets of blooms both retail and wholesale that are perfect for decorating weddings, parties and of course, filling all of your vases at home. These buckets offer the very best and freshest flowers of the day, are often scented and always something slightly different from your poker straight, imported stems.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Alongside supplying the buckets of stems, we also offer the option of creating bouquets, buttonholes and Jam Jar arrangements should you prefer.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re organising an event that you’d love to decorate with the charm of English-grown flowers, please drop me an email via the website.

For the love of a fancy tulip!

The field this morning is full of ruffles, feathers and peony-shaped heads. Aren’t they irresistible?! These tulips are nothing like the commercial varieties you pick up in most supermarkets. In a vase, stems dance towards the light, full of character, many varieties also open and close as the light levels change.

If you’d like to come and pick your own selection of locally grown stems, we’re open tomorrow from 10am-2pm.

Pick your own is back! Aren’t these double tulips just divine 😍

It’s been a tough start the season as we battled a host of wildlife (Muntjac, Squirrels and Mice) and as always, the British weather which has caused our late season tulips to come early, our early season tulips to come late and our mid season ones are still no where to be seen…!

There’s a real mixture from “gloriously tall” to “perfect for a jam jar posy” in every colour of the rainbow.

If you’d like to come down and pick your own, we’d love to see you on Saturday 10am-2pm @ Whitlocks End Farm, Bills Lane, Shirley. B90 2PL

Cost is £2 per person and 70p per stem.

Your biggest compliment of 2022

“Wow – did you really do all of this?”

We were really nervous about opening for pick your own dahlia. The plot wasn’t perfect, we’d often sold all of the filler flowers mid-week to florists and the weeds were more than visible. But you wonderful customers turned up week after week (sometimes in quite rubbish weather) to support us in buying your own locally grown flowers.

And we loved meeting you all. Thanks to the success of this, we’ve spread our flowers into the field behind and will be opening for pick your own tulips from April. Things will be bigger, hopefully better and definitely filled with fresh flowers.

Most of our customers have found us through word of mouth (which is a compliment in itself!), please do share our pages and tell your friends!

How did we get here?

Tom loves growing (flowers, vegetables, trees...) and I love a house filled with gorgeous scented flowers that change weekly and with the seasons. We wanted to grow everything and my seed catalogue problem was getting out of control. We had just too many flowers - yes, that really is a thing. With a little encouragement we took the nervous first step of offering spare stems for sale and here we are now entering our second full commercial season.
Now we made plenty of mistakes last year and learnt just as many lessons. Succession sowing is a headache and predicting when an exact colour and variety will bloom is simply in the lap of the weather gods.
Growing for profit over pleasure is tricky but we gained an idea of which flowers people want to buy and hopefully, how they want to buy them. Cannot wait to show you what we’ve planned for 2022.

Is there anything different you’d like to see from us this year? Something you'd like to see more of?

Please let us know in the comments! 👇

It’s pretty muddy and wet outside so currently we’re adapting seed sowing spreadsheets before the chaos of sowing and planting restarts. Then there’s tunnels still to clear and replant, drainage to fix and wedding enquiries to keep on top of. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Spring brings the arrival of the first bulbs whilst we’re still in the thick of annual seed sowing and planting. Thanks to the popularity of pick your own dahlia, we’ll be offering pick your own ‘fancy’ tulips this April. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Summer marks the start of wedding season and we’ve both been blown away with the enquiries from DIY brides and florists wanting to source mixed buckets to decorate their special days. It’s also flower cutting chaos. The days are long and start early to pick the stems in peak condition before the heat of the day sets in. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Saturdays throughout this summer will become our pick your own day. We’re planning a much bigger range of flowers this year and spreading into the field behind to accommodate extra choice and more wholesale orders.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Through Autumn, the dahlia and chrysanthemums will continue to bloom. We’ll be propagating, clearing beds and starting more seeds with an eye to the new year. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then it’s Christmas. Wreaths, trees and lots of holly.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the meantime, there’s plenty more roses still to prune. Can’t wait to be cutting those perfumed heads once more... 🌹 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
