It’s been a little while since we introduced ourselves, so here’s a a little more about the people behind the honey 😀
Hi, We’re John and Amy, co-owners of Fen’s Edge Honey. John’s passion for beekeeping began 16 years ago when he started with his first hives. He’s also a whisky lover, vet, ultra marathon runner, considers himself excellent at pub quizzes (we do seem to lose when he isn’t there) and he loves to cook.
Amy loves to eat! She also likes to run (not quite as far as John), and by day works in the travel industry. She loves the countryside, long walks with the dogs (We have three - Greyhounds Milo and Maddy, and what we highly suspect is an ADHD border collie called Tara). She also loves writing, and being around her friends and family.
Baston, Lincs is our home 🏡 And deciding we didn’t have enough on this year we also recently took up being allotment renters together!
We’re a very small business with a very big heart. And we genuinely appreciate every time you buy some of our honey and keep this little dream we have alive 💛
It means we can keep doing this:
🐝 supporting honeybees, and raising awareness about how fascinating these incredible insects are.
🚜 building more colonies of hives, which also help British farmers pollinate their crops (and our food).
💛 being beekeepers around our day jobs (because we’d love to do this all just for the love of it, but the reality is, beekeeping - and running a side business - is REALLY hard work).
🍯 Producing high quality local honey without additives, not mixed with sugar syrup and passed off as ‘honey’, minimally processed (only filtered to remove wax particles, all the pollen left in). It means we can keep creating something we love to eat, and love even more when other people love to enjoy it too.
