It’s been an exciting (and sometimes challenging!) journey, but the feedback we’ve received has been nothing short of amazing — it’s what keeps us motivated and moving forward. The Nights Are Drawing In – Time for Those Winter Warmers! ❄️🔥

Now that the clocks have turned and the evenings are drawing in much quicker, it’s the perfect time to start thinking about those hearty winter warmers.

Our Lake District Meat Co. boxes often include one of our favourite slow-cooking cuts – Beef Shin (also known as Shank).

Beef shin is taken from the lower leg of the cow – a hardworking muscle that’s full of flavour thanks to its high connective tissue content. With a little time and patience, this humble cut transforms into something truly special. Slow braising or stewing breaks down the connective tissue into gelatin, creating a deep, rich sauce and melt-in-the-mouth tenderness.

It’s a wonderfully economical cut and ideal for stews, casseroles, or pies – exactly what’s needed for those chilly nights ahead.

Just a quick reminder and update on our availability for November.

🥩 Our next Local Delivery of delicious grass-fed Cumbrian beef will be on Tuesday 18th November 2025, with UK Wide Delivery on Wednesday 19th November 2025.

This will be our final batch of boxes for 2025 as we’ll be taking a short break over winter. We plan to restart in early 2026, likely towards the end of February, with some exciting changes coming your way!

When we return, we’re hoping to expand our range to include lamb and pork, and we’re also in talks with an amazing local supplier to potentially offer poultry too.

In the meantime, make sure to stock up your freezers and take advantage of our amazing value, grass-fed beef, reared right here in the heart of Cumbria and the Lake District.
