May saw things really heat up. Quite literally.

And for us, it was all about getting out there.

From 5K PBs at the London Marathon Community Track, to a weekend in the Lake District at Keswick Mountain Festival, attending the Hilight Run Club, and plenty more in between.

We also saw athletes take on start lines from The Traka in Spain, to the Southampton Marathon and even the Hackney Half.

It’s been an exciting month across the board, with plenty happening behind the scenes as we build into June.

Refeed fast

Optimal refuelling is done in the anabolic window (20 mins post-ride) when glycogen & protein synthesis are at their highest. A recovery shake can be one of the easiest ways to help you achieve this.

1. Control your early effort

Fresh legs are deceptive. It’s easy to overcook the early pace and slowly pay for it later. Using power or heart rate can help keep your effort controlled from the start.

2. Fuel from the start

If you only start eating when you feel hungry, you’re already behind. Long rides are about staying ahead of energy demand, not reacting to it.

3. Stay consistent with intake

Your body performs best on steady input. Long gaps between fuel can lead to spikes and crashes in energy. Our energy chews make this easier, with each pack containing 6 individual chews helping you space out fuelling evenly.
