Please ensure you have wellies & something to put under your pumpkin in the car, there’s a washing area by the lodge for pumpkins & muddy boots 😊

They’re Ready !!! Despite the crazy weather, weeds growing like stink 😡Rabbits 😡 even Deer taking a select few The Patch will open tomorrow Saturday 12th..
I shall be spending the day flattening the weeds & moving them down towards the bottom of the field making it easier & safer for you to come choose
Wellies a must it’s pretty wet n boggy up there !

Edit: plenty of sweet corn Stunning radish & big sunflower heads (great for the bird table) Charlotte potatoes Purple potatoes can be dug up by me or you can have a go yourself 😍

FINALLY!!! The ground has dried enough to get that muck on & ploughed in .. As well as Pumpkins I’ve had the crazy idea of adding PYO Veg/soft fruit/Flowers so watch this space 🤪

Wow! Another fantastic weekend on the patch 🎃🎃
Thank you to everyone who came & supported our “Pumpkin Party “ we raised an amazing £390 for Trelleck Grange Church from the sales of scrummy cakes Brownies & warming soups all provided by our ladies in The Grange
The winners of Name The Jelly Cat Pumpkin & Guess The Weight 🎃 will be notified shortly..

The patch will remain open till 4pm Tuesday

What a great 1st weekend! Thank you to everyone who braved the wind & rain to pick their pumpkins 🎃

🎃 Pumpkins are not just for Halloween 🎃

After having a little panic over them not being “Orange “ I delved into the realms of green pumpkins.. just as tasty if not better than the more mature ones. So many fabulous recipes to try… curries, stews, roasted slices.
Save the seeds for planting next year, toast them & turn them into pumpkin seed brittle nom nom 😍. Even roast the seeds, grind them up & sprinkle a teaspoon over your dogs food for an effective totally natural de-wormer.

When you want to dispose of them, chop up & put into the food waste, feed them to your chickens, if we have any left we will be feeding them to our dairy herd who love them 😍. If you put them out on the compost or garden please be aware that they are dangerous to hedgehogs 🦔. Causing diarrhoea & dehydration.
