Dear Friends and Community,

It’s with a heavy heart that we share some news about our little health food and mushroom shop. After pouring our passion into this space for the community, offering healthier choices, fresh mushrooms, homemade chocolates, nut butters, and more, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our doors sometime within the next 6 months.

We started this venture with so much excitement and support from all of you. Those early days were buzzing with energy, and we loved being a part of building up our small town. But over time, things changed. Foot traffic slowed, markets didn’t pan out as hoped, and despite our efforts to stock what you asked for and promote on here, the response just wasn’t enough. So many of you encouraged us to add hot drinks, and we were definitely going to make that happen, but with the new coffee shop arriving nearby and thriving, it didn’t make sense to compete.

Our limited hours were due to balancing this with our other online business, which we’ve run for 10 years. We’ve now scaled back to being open only on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm, as most days we’d sit with no customers. We planned to ease up on our other business and expand shop hours if things picked up, but sadly, they didn’t.

To our loyal regulars: you’ve been the bright spots in our days, and we hate letting you down. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.

This isn’t a failure for us, it’s a lesson learned. We’ve lost a lot trying to make this work, but we’re proud of what we built. We’ll keep you updated on the exact closing date as it approaches. In the meantime, come by for your favourites while you can!

Good afternoon guys,

We are now finally stocking 51° North coffee beans, and the delicious Henny & Joe’s chai range. It’s the perfect way to keep yourself warm at home over the coming autumn/winter 🥶 ☕️ 🥵

We will also be doing some morning opening times. If there are any times that you prefer, please don’t hesitate to ask 😃

A quick little in-site to another step I take with mushroom growing. Pink oyster mushrooms are one step closer to going into the grow room. Hopefully, I will have some ready by the end of the summer 🤩🍄

Hi guys,

I have decided to start making more mushroom-growing videos on our YouTube channel that we are trying to build up about the shop. Please feel free to like and subscribe if you are interested in following the process we go through.

I will also be doing a vlog about making medicinal tinctures, as before I can start making and selling them I need to get approved for novel foods. This process looks like it may be tedious. Hopefully, that video will help others as the government rules in this country are not always easy to understand.
For instance, what items are liable for VAT charges or not is too complicated and lacks easy help.
