FANGAK COUNTY, JONGLIE, SOUTH SUDAN
I write with a heavy heart on behalf of the people of Fangak, South Sudan, who are facing one of the most devastating humanitarian crises in recent memory. Torrential floods have displaced thousands, submerged homes, destroyed livelihoods, and left families stranded without access to basic necessities.
Mothers carry infants in their arms through floodwaters, children sleep under the open sky without food or clean water, and the elderly are left vulnerable with no shelter or medical support. This situation is dire, and without urgent intervention, many lives remain at risk.
Fangak is not just a place on the map it is our home, our heritage, and the heart of our people. Today, that home is drowning, and so is hope, unless the world comes to our aid.
We humbly appeal for urgent humanitarian assistance, particularly in the following areas:
Emergency food supplies for displaced families.
1. Clean drinking water and sanitation support to prevent disease outbreaks.
2. Medical aid and essential drugs for vulnerable groups.
3. Temporary shelters and non-food items (NFIs) such as blankets and clothing.
4. Rescue and evacuation support for the most affected areas.
We firmly believe that with swift and coordinated humanitarian intervention, countless lives can be saved and dignity restored to those now suffering. As it is written in the Scriptures: “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). This gives us hope, but we also know that God works through people through you to bring relief to those in need. We therefore make this urgent appeal to your esteemed organization to stand with us in this time of crisis. Your support, whether through direct aid, coordination, or advocacy, will make the difference between despair and survival for many.
