Promises of God - Do Not Be Used
Just like the donkey in the story of Balaam, we can be used for evil purposes if we're not careful. But when we surrender to God's will, we can be transformed to become instruments of blessing instead of cursing.
"The donkey, though beaten and abused, refused to move forward in disobedience to God's command. This humble creature was more obedient to God's will than the prophet himself."
— Ellen G. White, "Patriarchs and Prophets," p. 438.
A Call to Change Course
"And Balaam said unto the angel of the Lord, 'I have sinned; for I knew not that thou stoodest in the way against me: now therefore, if it displease thee, I will get me back again.'" (Numbers 22:34)
Key Takeaways
1. Be willing to change course: Just like the donkey, we should be willing to change our mission and direction when we realize we're headed in the wrong direction.
2. Prioritize obedience to God: We should prioritize obedience to God's will, even if it means going against our own desires or plans.
3. Transform from cursing to blessing: As we surrender to God's will, we can be transformed from instruments of cursing to instruments of blessing, bringing life and hope to those around us.
May we learn from the humble donkey's obedience and strive to align our lives with God's will, becoming instruments of blessing and hope in a world that desperately needs it.
