🧶Cedar and Thyme is a third generation fibre artist, I started knitting at a very young age and transitioned to crochet about ten years ago. I’ve always enjoyed making things for people and seeing the life they give my pieces. Now I split my time between Crochet and Knitting. My hands feel idle and stagnant if I don’t have yarn running through them! My newest endeavor finds me pouring through thrift stores to find sweaters and t-shirts that can be given new life with new sleeves! All hand crocheted by me!

🧶Wendy from CASS is a talented artist who dabbles in watercolour and fibre arts.

🧵Layered Impressions is a small embroidery business creating nature inspired designs rooted in thoughtful, intentional making and low waste production. She works in small batches and carefully considers each piece from start to finish, with a focus on quality, detail, and sustainability.

🧶 Bellissima Crochet creates tiny pieces of lightweight wearable art that will last for generations.

🕯️Moonlight Lumina is a Calgary-based candle business owned and operated by Mila. Inspired by her love of cozy spaces and her own sensitivity to strong scents, Mila creates hand-poured soy wax candles in small batches with thoughtfully selected fragrances. Each candle is made to bring warmth, comfort, and a little everyday magic into your home. Mila makes her candles in small batches to reduce unnecessary waste and use reusable glass candle jars that customers can repurpose after the candle is finished.

🎃Meet the MAKERS🎃

🌱Growing plants has been a healing journey for me, and Lil Leafy is my way of sharing it with others. Each plant is rooted in gratitude, and every terrarium is crafted with love. The terrarium’s very life cycle, as every material is compostable and reusable- from the plants propagated to the glass containers used.

☀️I have always been attracted to shiny things. So why not Stained Glass?! I am an 18 year stained glass artist who loves to work with vibrant colours and textures. I try to keep my art accessible, as I think everyone should have glass art to brighten up their homes.

🦋I create all handmade, one of one, pieces primarily made of avian taxidermy elements, skulls, bones of many animal species, insects and various antique trinkets, finished with dried floral. All animal components are sustainably sourced, none of the animals utilized were harmed or killed for the purpose of my craft. The majority, if not all, of the housing portions of my work are sustainably sourced via thrifting and secondhand market places. I try my best to create beautiful pieces of decor, while keeping my environmental impact to a minimum.

🧼We’re thoughtful about what we add to Basosi. Every product needs to fit our zero-waste values, from what it’s made with to how it’s packaged. Sometimes that means taking longer to find the right option, and we’re okay with that.

🎃Meet the MAKERS🎃

💍Hello! my name is Ciara and I am a silversmith creating unique and fun sterling silver jewelry right here in Calgary. My favorite eco practice is to rescue and reuse EVERYTHING I possibly can. My pieces often incorporate old teacups, reclaimed gemstones, vintage silver and (of course) sea glass! Even my jewellers bench was once an old teachers desk 🤗

🧶Fixation Fibre & Function is a Calgary-based handmade business where I create one-of-a-kind bags, accessories, and small-batch hand-dyed yarns. Many of my products incorporate upcycled clothing and reclaimed textiles, giving beautiful materials a second life. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to be both functional and unique.

🛡️When not whipping up body products Gen RL X creates plaques, Halloween gravestones, wooden shields and other fun things all using upcycled materials. One persons trash gets Gen RL X’s creativity rolling. Old furniture, plywood scraps, pallets and random parts found around all become art. Ask them what they used and what inspired it. Commisions available.

🎃Meet the MAKERS🎃

🐄Hi, I’m Alice, the maker behind Rose Creek Whipped Tallow. I handcraft small-batch tallow skincare in Bragg Creek, Alberta using grass-fed, grass-finished beef tallow and carefully selected skin-loving oils. My line includes whipped body tallows, facial tallow, cleansing balm, body scrubs, balms and more. I started Rose Creek because I love simple skincare made with ingredients you can actually recognize, and everything is still made by me in small batches.

🐛Run by one creepy crawly who can’t pick a hobby. From Tunisian crochet tapestries to prints, pins, keychains and even the occasional taxidermy, I’ve done it all. All my art is inspired by creatures often unloved, like bugs and vermin to show them in another light.

✂️Shane (spj.collages) is a Calgary born artist who primary practice is surrealist collage. These collages dissect the complexity of human relationships, our ties to each other, to technology, to cities and to the sublime. Shane’s favorite eco practice is finding old unused unloved magazines at thrift or antique stores and making them into something unique.

🪡“We are Sarah and Charlotte Batty, and we run Bits of Batty. Our favourite eco friendly practice is using reclaimed/vintage/dead stock, recycled, and Canadian sourced materials in all of our products.”

👽Jubilee’s Intergalactic Pet Rescue is full of colourful & quirky alien stuffies waiting to be adopted. Her favourite eco friendly practice is buying pre loved clothes & pillows from thrift stores & turning them into something new.
