⛰️ Cloud-abode of history: Sajek Hills.
The name of the silent dialogue between clouds and mountains in the heart of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Today's Sajek is not just a tourist attraction—it is a living document of history, nature, and ethnic diversity.
Sajek is named after the hill stream Sajek Chhara here, which was once the lifeline of the hill people. Various indigenous communities including Lusai, Pankhwa, Marma, Tripura, and others have been living in this region for a long time—whose culture, language, and philosophy of life are as strong and simple as the mountains. Although this remote area was out of administrative sight during the British rule, it gradually became known after independence due to its natural beauty and heritage.
Geographically, Sajek is located in the district, but the main route of travel—the history, mountains, and stories of the people of these two districts have come together here. The morning mist, the afternoon sun, the evening silence—at every moment, Sajek reminds us that history is not just in books; its true address lies in nature and people.
🌿 Standing in Sajek, we don't just see the mountains—we see stories of memories, struggles, and peace accumulated over time.
May the journey be with history, with nature, and with ourselves.
