Good News Friday 💛

Last Friday, Meat Cellar donated all the sausages for a sausage sizzle at Clifford Park Special School, organised through Northern Suburbs Hockey Club Of Toowoomba.

This one was close to our hearts. Our boys played hockey for the first time this year. Our eldest has a disability, and our five-year-old was playing his first team sport. The coaches, Sam and the whole club made our family feel welcome and included. We loved our Saturday mornings at hockey.

Then came a lovely full-circle moment. The person who organised the sausage sizzle works at our medical centre and has supported our family so many times. Her son Jack also plays hockey and has had a wonderful experience with Toowoomba North.

We love supporting good people and causes close to our hearts. Inclusion matters a lot to our family, and we’re grateful to be part of a community that helps everyone feel they belong.

That’s Toowoomba for you — everyone knows everyone! 💛🏑🌭

WEEKEND WORKER WANTED – WESTRIDGE

The Meat Cellar Westridge is looking for a reliable weekend team member to join us on a regular basis.

Saturday: 7:00am–2:00pm
Sunday: 7:00am–1:00pm
13 hours per weekend

A qualified butcher or someone with meat, food retail or hospitality experience would be preferred. We are also happy to hear from someone semi-retired or looking for regular extra income.

Duties may include:

• Serving customers
• Cutting, wrapping and packing products
• Stock replenishment
• Guiding and supporting apprentices and younger team members
• Helping supervise young wash-up staff
• Maintaining high food-safety and cleanliness standards
• General shop duties
• Providing friendly, reliable customer service

The successful applicant will need to be dependable, well-presented, comfortable working on their feet and able to work independently in a busy retail environment.

Pay will be based on the relevant award and the applicant’s experience.

Currently employed and looking for extra weekend work? We understand. All enquiries will be treated discreetly and confidentially.

We’re proud to supply the meat trays for Souths Junior Rugby League’s raffles and even prouder knowing they’re helping support teams like these little Under 7 Tigers. 🧡🖤

When you support local clubs, local businesses and community fundraisers, that money keeps circulating right here in our community — and we reckon that’s pretty bloody important.

Our little Tigers took over the Federal Hotel tonight, with our Under 7s having their turn at the meat raffles! 🧡🖤

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, bought tickets and supported our youngest Tigers. It was another great night filled with plenty of smiles, laughs and Souths spirit! 🐯
