Meet one of our locals, Jennifer

She has been shopping with us since 2020, the year we first opened our doors, and she stopped by for her weekly shop and decided to say a few words to our community.

We started this store because we believed that every community deserves access to good food and we do it for the people around us and for the next generation of kids growing up with a little more awareness of what they put in their bodies.

Have you heard of hydroxyapatite toothpaste?

It’s been quietly trending in the oral health space and honestly for good reason. Hydroxyapatite is a naturally occurring mineral that already makes up most of your tooth enamel, so using it in toothpaste essentially helps remineralise and strengthen your teeth from the outside in. No fluoride needed.

Our naturopath Laura pointed us to this one and if you’ve ever spent a good few minutes standing in front of our toothpaste section trying to figure out which one to go with, this might just be your answer.

We are talking apples, specifically the Golden Delicious 🍏

During apple season around this time of year that’s when you’ll find them in store and honestly they’re worth looking forward to.

Golden Delicious are one of those varieties that just do everything well. They’re sweet, mild and crisp which makes them just as good for snacking as they are for cooking.
They also happen to be high in fibre and quercetin which is a natural antioxidant that supports your immune system and reduces inflammation.

Sometimes it’s a little instruction to keep things in order, sometimes it’s a treat for the hard work and sometimes, actually most times, she shares all her good ideas with us whether we ask or not.

The red seeded grapes are back and yes, they are in season 🍇

These are the globe variety and for those who’ve been asking, your patience has been rewarded.

They’re high in resveratrol which is one of the reasons people get a little excited about them this time of year. And the seeds? You chew them. That’s where a lot of the good stuff lives.
