My life isn’t exactly your average life. Being a mum and caring for an autistic young man means things don’t always run to plan, and I don’t always have the freedom to go out and do everything I might like to do.

That’s part of why my caravan, my plants and Time Well Wasted have become so important to me.

They give me something that is mine—a place where I can potter, create, try new ideas and enjoy a little freedom without needing to be too far from home.

It’s not just about plants or renovating an old caravan. It gives me something fun to plan and look forward to that isn’t an appointment, a problem or a battle I need to fight.

Thank you for supporting my little business and following along with all my ideas. You’re helping me create a space where I can breathe, be myself and enjoy some time well wasted. 💚

Another productive day in the caravan! 🌿

The second shelf is now in, so both sides are finally starting to match. I’ve also removed the old kitchen sink and benchtop—apparently I’ve progressed from decorating to demolition! 😂

Next will be a new timber benchtop right across one end, creating one long workspace for potting, creating and generally wasting time very well.

There’s still plenty to do, but every little job is bringing my tiny botanical studio closer to life. 💚

Good morning ☀️

A little more mulch here, a few more plants there, and suddenly I can see the backyard I’ve been imagining starting to appear. 🌿

There’s still plenty to do (and apparently always room for one more plant), but the winding paths, rocks, timber and caravan are slowly making it feel like my own little botanical hideaway.

I think I’m getting closer to a backyard where time really is well wasted. 💚

🌿 A little caravan progress update…

Today I finally made a start on the bamboo ceiling, covering up the old ugly ceiling underneath — and even though there’s still plenty to do, I’m already loving the difference.

I also removed the broken cupboard doors and drawers, gave everything a bit of a clean and started getting a clearer idea of how I want the space to come together.

I was actually getting quite motivated and planning to keep going…

And then I had a visitor. 🐍😂

A rather LARGE visitor casually made his way through the garden, and suddenly I decided I’d achieved quite enough for one day.

So the tools are down, I’m inside, and he can have the garden for a while. 😂

The caravan will still be there tomorrow.

Hopefully he won’t be.

And I’m really hoping he understands that the caravan is NOT part of the garden tour. 😳🐍
