Have you ever heard of a herb bouquet?

I have to admit… I hadn’t! But what a lovely idea.

Nature's Orchestra had herb boquets bundled together with a little flower.

Then someone said, " I take one when I'm invited to dinner as a gift!”

YES!

A little bunch of fresh herbs, tied together with a pretty flower, makes such a lovely gift for a dinner host, a friend, a neighbor… or even just a little treat for yourself.

Fresh, useful, beautiful and a little bit different.

And let’s be honest… who needs flowers when you can bring a bunch that smells amazing and can end up in the pasta?

Thank you to Nature’s Orchestra for introducing us to these gorgeous little herb bouquets!

Have you ever stopped to think about just how many wonderful farmers and growers we have right here in our region?

This Thursday, you'll find beautiful, locally grown Pillar Valley Tomatoes, YUM, amongst the fresh produce available at the Maclean Harvest Market!

And that's just part of the story!

From Clarenza, Ashby, Nimbin, Ulmarra, Waterview Heights and Whitemans Creek, just to name a few, as we can't give away ALL our little secrets! Our market is bringing together some amazing homegrown, freshly picked produce from across our region.

Behind that beautiful fresh produce are hardworking local farmers and growers, each with their own story, their own patch of dirt and a passion for what they grow.

And that's what makes a farmers market so special. It's not just about buying fruit and vegetables, it's about supporting the people who grow them, right here in our own backyard.

Locally grown, freshly picked and proudly brought to our community.

ARE YOU A HERBAHOLIC LIKE ME?*

Well, have I got some herbalicious news for you!

Nothing beats fresh herbs, straight from the garden to you!

Think thyme, sage, rosemary, just to name a few. There's something about the smell and flavour of freshly picked herbs that you just can't beat.

And the good news? Fresh herbs will be available at the Maclean Harvest Market this Thursday!

Herbaholic, herbalicious… I'm starting to think these words deserve a place in the Urban Dictionary!

So, whether you're a seasoned cook (see what I did there?) or just love having fresh herbs on hand, come and get your herby fix this Thursday!

YES… it’s a POMELO!

This week at the market we finally cut one open and tasted it for the very first time.

We had absolutely no idea what to expect, although apparently plenty of you did!

As you can see, the skin is incredibly thick, inside it has a texture a little like an orange, with that bitterness you’d expect from a grapefruit.

And the verdict?

Well… thank goodness nobody had the camera pointed at my face when I tasted it!

Definitely NOT for me!

But that’s half the fun of growing things, sometimes you end up discovering something completely unexpected.

Do you know what this is?

When we acquired our farm, there was a tree growing amongst the citrus with the strangest looking fruit on it.

We had absolutely no idea what it was!

The fruit grows to about the size of a small soccer ball, and this year the tree is absolutely loaded. So loaded, in fact, we’ve had to put stakes under the branches to help hold the fruit up!

Well… we finally know what it is.

But do you?

Have you ever tasted one?

We’ll bring one along to the Maclean Harvest Market this Thursday so you can have a taste. We’ve been told it’s great in fruit salad and can even be used in curries.

You asked. We listened.

One of the biggest things you’ve been asking us for is more affordable, everyday fruit and veg, and we’ve been working hard behind the scenes to make it happen.

From next week, we’ll have another produce option at the market, offering locally grown, spray-free, seasonal fruit and veg at a differnet price point. 🌱

We already have some wonderful produce choices at our market, including certified organic, and we know everyone shops differently. Some people specifically seek out certified organic produce, while for others, locally grown, fresh and affordable is their priority.

We want our market to have room for both.

Will everything be cheaper than the supermarkets? Maybe not.

Will it be fresh? Absolutely.

And remember, genuinely local produce follows the seasons. Not everything will be available every week, and what’s on the table will change depending on what’s growing and ready to pick.

You asked for it, we’ve listened. Now we need you to support it.
