Today The Flying Pigeon celebrates 2 years since they created Curry Elixir! I’ve chosen to share their post which is about kindness and the right words at the right time.
At The Flying Pigeon, they take pride in creating food that welcomes everyone to the table — no matter your dietary needs. Their meals are rich, fragrant, and comforting, crafted to be low FODMAP-friendly without compromising on flavour or texture. Offering choices that are gluten-free, dairy free, nut free & soy free.
A little more inclusive, a lot more delicious - that's what they’re all about.
Their delicious Curry Elixir and dumplings are available both at the restaurant and at local farmers markets.
Easter is all about hope, renewal, and transformation. Today, we would like to take the opportunity to share a story of faith, human connection, and unexpected resurrection. ** A long post ahead
Last night, Steve finally came back to the restaurant. We’ve been waiting an entire year for that moment — just so we could tell him how grateful we are.
This time last year, we were struggling. Like really struggling. The cost of living had spiked, and things were tough — tougher than we’d ever faced.
One evening, Steve came in with his friends. After their meal, Steve asked for a takeaway container to bring home the leftover curry sauce — maybe 100ml, not much at all. We remember asking: Steve, what are you going to do with that?
He smiled and said, “I’m going to send it to a lab, get it analysed, manufactured, and sold. This is liquid gold!”
It was the biggest compliment we have ever received. And we didn’t just take it as flattery, we took it as a sign. We sat with it, processed it, and turned it into action.
By the end of May 24, Curry Elixir was born. Steve said the right words at exactly the right time — and those words may have saved us from what felt like the edge of collapse. A year later, we finally got to show him what we’ve built and tell him just how much his words meant.
Forever grateful. Every time we look back, we get emotional — not because of what was given, but because of the beauty in the act itself. It wasn’t about material things; it was about inspiration, kindness, and the power of a moment shared.
