FOODIE FRIDAY | High Protein Veggie Frittata 🍳

A simple, high-protein favourite packed with fresh veggies — perfect any time of day.

Ingredients:

* 10 small eggs
* ½ cup milk
* 1 leek, sliced
* Cherry tomatoes, diced
* Optional: bell peppers, herbs of choice
* Goat’s cheese (or your favourite cheese)

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 200°C.
2. Whisk eggs and milk together well. Set aside.
3. Sauté leek for 5–10 minutes until softened. Add any harder veggies and cook through.
4. Add tomatoes, peppers, and herbs. Cook until slightly softened.
5. Pour in egg mixture, gently swirling to cover the vegetables.
6. Cook on medium heat until the edges are set and the base is lightly cooked (don’t overcook).
7. Top with goat’s cheese, then transfer to the oven.
8. Bake until puffed and golden.

Slice and enjoy!

Optional: Add chorizo, chicken, or your favourite protein — or keep it fresh and vegetarian.

Out the front, our baskets are brimming with beautiful finds.

Sweet potatoes are a wonderful buy at $1.50 – such good value and perfect for the cooler days ahead.
Our Pink Lady apples are crisp and in their prime, just beautiful eating. Royal Gala apples are bright and well and truly in season – perfect for lunch boxes and everyday crunch.

Cauliflowers are waiting out the front, stacked high and ready for your winter bakes.

Our persimmons are glowing, ripe and ready to enjoy, and the sweet corn is as golden and sweet as ever – just the thing to tuck into a cosy winter roast.

Tucked throughout the store, you’ll find a scattering of unique, locally grown vegetables from our wonderful farmers – little treasures waiting to be discovered.

And of course, a posy of fresh flowers awaits you out front… the perfect touch to brighten your home.

Pop in, have a wander, and soak up the season with us.

Foodie Fridays at Harvest 🍛

Today we’re keeping it simple and seriously delicious with a Yellow Curry using the Blue Elephant Royal Thai Cuisine premium curry sauce (find it in-store with the sauces 👌).

This rich, creamy, mild curry is ready to heat—no preservatives, no artificial colours, and no MSG.

How to:
• Choose your protein (I used lamb) and sear quickly, then set aside
• In a saucepan, add the curry sauce + ½ cup water and bring to the boil
• Add your protein and any veggies you like
• Simmer until cooked through

Serve with fluffy Thai jasmine rice and you’ve got a beautiful, comforting meal in minutes.

Aston Lucas has truly nailed comfort food with their braised lamb ragu. This Australian-made, ready-to-go meal might promise convenience, but it delivers so much more than that.

The pasta is beautifully thick and hearty, holding onto every bit of that rich, slow-cooked sauce. And the sauce itself? Absolute perfection—deep tomato flavours, full-bodied and comforting, just like a proper homemade ragu should be.

We’re gently drifting toward the end of May, and there are a few lovely new things peeking onto our shelves…

Have you spotted the Barhee dates? These golden little gems are something special — soft, sweet, and fresh (not dried), with a texture somewhere between a crisp fruit and a melt-in-your-mouth treat. They almost look like a yellow jujube — come in and try a few for yourself.

Over in the veg, cauliflower is looking particularly good and great value this week. And up front, you’ll find our tomato sauce jars on special — 700g jars, two for $9 — perfect to stock up the pantry.

In the fridge, nestled amongst the drinks, we’ve welcomed some new matcha lattes in a can — original, strawberry, and white matcha. Easy, delicious, and ready to go.

We also have a fresh lineup of Coffee by Frederick — with blends from Ethiopian to Colombian and more — something for every coffee lover.

Back again- our XL organic Tassie garlic has landed. Big, bold, and full of flavour — a joy to cook with and to look at.

And if you wander toward the deli, just above you’ll find a sweet little haven — baklava, bickies, almond crescents… perfect for a treat on the go.

Golden Sweet Potato, Rice & Couscous Salad

A warm, hearty mix that’s just as happy on the side as it is prepped for the week ahead—full of gentle spice, sweetness, and comfort.

Ingredients

* 2 sweet potatoes, diced
* Olive oil
* Mixed herbs or your favourite smoky spice blend
* 1 cup basmati rice
* Pinch of saffron
* ½ tsp paprika
* K**b of butter
* 1 cup couscous (Israeli or regular)
* 1 small cinnamon stick
* Sultanas & dried apple, to taste
* Salt & pepper
* Handful of rocket, finely chopped
* Spring onions, sliced (optional)

Method

1. Roast the sweet potato: Toss diced sweet potato with olive oil and your chosen spices. Roast at 200°C until golden and tender. Set aside.
2. Cook the rice: Prepare basmati rice with saffron, paprika, and a k**b of butter. Fluff and set aside.
3. Prepare the couscous: Cook as per packet with a touch of paprika, adding the cinnamon stick as it cooks. Stir through sultanas, dried apple, salt, and pepper. Remove the cinnamon stick before serving.
4. Bring it together: In a large bowl, gently combine the sweet potato, rice, and couscous. Fold through the chopped rocket.
5. Finish: Top with spring onions if you like, and give it a final light toss.

A beautifully balanced bowl—soft, fragrant, and just a little bit sweet.

Tucked away at the rear of the deli, you’ll find our new range of Frontier biscuits — a delightful collection of handmade treats crafted the old-fashioned way. Think buttery almond bickies, delicate pistachio flavours, golden baklavas, and our irresistible strawberry and chocolate biscuits… all made with simple, clean ingredients and a whole lot of care.

Harvest Eltham Market Update –
Wednesday 13th May 2026 🍂

A few lovely new arrivals in store today, along with some beautiful value to be found.

Sweet potatoes are looking great and are good value at the moment — perfect for something warm and comforting.
Out the front, you’ll spot persimmons stacked high at just $1 each, and cauliflowers in the baskets for $1.50 — simple, seasonal goodness at its best.

We’ve also got Royal Gala apples on special, alongside gorgeous Josephine pears, soft, sweet, and full of flavour.

And something a little special — prickly pears are in. If you haven’t tried them before, now’s the time. Just be sure to use the tongs (no hands!) and prepare them by slicing and scooping like a kiwi.

Garlic Snake Beans with Sweet Soy 🌿

Snake beans are in store and well worth a try—one bunch stretches beautifully across meals.

Ingredients

* 1 bunch snake beans, chopped
* 2–3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
* Chilli flakes (to taste)
* 1–2 tbsp sweet soy sauce
* Oil for cooking
* Salt & pepper

Method
Heat a little oil in a pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add garlic and chilli flakes, stirring for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Toss in the snake beans and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes until just tender. Drizzle over sweet soy sauce, season with salt and pepper, and give it a final toss.

Serve straight away.

To make it a meal
Pair with couscous, roasted veggies, or sprinkle with a little feta. Simple, flavourful, and stretches a long way.

Harvest Eltham Market Update — Wednesday 6th May

The shelves are looking fresh and full today, and the veggie aisle is especially green and luscious 🌿

We’ve welcomed in some new and interesting varieties — including Indian bitter melon, classic bitter melon, and a fresh batch of hairy melons. From the squash family, these beauties are right at home in comforting curries and slow, flavourful dishes.

Our snake beans have been flying out the door — long, crisp, and perfect for all sorts of cooking, so be quick to grab a bunch.

In the chilled section, you’ll spot bunches of mustard leaves.

At the front, we’ve got bags of sweet flamingo passionfruit in the barrels — hard to miss and even harder to resist.

Some lovely specials are out front: pasta is 2 for $6 this week, perfect for stocking up on your pantry staples.

And something new on the shelves — Chow Cacao, an Australian-made range from Byron Bay. Organic, with options that are dairy-free, gluten-free, and refined sugar-free… and just a little bit delightful. Pop in for a look (and maybe a taste).
