Record: Little Pigeon (Gugu No. 16 Black)
Met on 3/10/24: Fluffed and weak, standing in front of the restaurant on a mop, eyes infected with yellow mucus, easily captured with no resistance.
3/10/24: After deworming, clean the eyes with saline and observe for a day, decide on medication based on whether the eyes are still infected. Check if defecation is normal and if there is uric acid, feed 6ml of bird formula milk 3 hours later, mixed with glucose and probiotics, three times a day. (Gradually increase the milk amount to 15ml, three times a day).
4/10/24: Start using antibiotic eye drops, apply after cleaning the eyes with saline, three times a day for 7 to 14 days.
6/10/24: Eyes start to brighten up, weight is also increasing, continue with the eye drops.
9/10/24: Noticed 5 white pigeon pox growths starting at the edge of one eye.
After a few days, they spread to the feet. The pigeon pox gradually grow larger, need to enhance resistance. Continue daily eye cleaning and eye drops. Eye drops cannot kill the pigeon pox virus, they are for eye infections. Add a comprehensive vitamin and pigeon-specific turmeric powder to the milk every two days to help boost resistance and immune system. Soon the pigeon pox will fall off, changing from white to yellow, then brown, and finally black before falling off. From 9/10/24 to 5/11/24, it took 28 days for all the pigeon pox to fall off. The areas circled in the photo are where the pigeon pox were, and the skin there is slightly lighter than the areas without pigeon pox after they fell off.
